When the Zeal is Gone, What’s Next

Fellowship Only place others do not think you are crazy

My zeal has been gone, i operate on faith now

  • we do not want to admit that fire has dwindled out
  • What revives us
  • Mark 4:2-6
    • No depth of the earth, (focus on verses 5 and 6)
      • This spirit is just going through the motions
      • Mark 4:16-17
        • Stop getting “Wowed” only meant to grow/endure to a certain point
    • All these things done in parables (Mark 4:34)
    • Many will know the brief overview of something
      • Greater understanding only given to some
    • God gives his doctrine in weight, not all understand it equally
    • Christ gave the understanding to his disciples,
    • Questions come about when there is growth, no questions = no growth
      • bread of life cause us to be fed
      • Itching ears make us search for answers in other places
    • Mark 4:12
      • People see miracles but not grasp it
      • If they really understood, they would be converted
      • But we don’t really want to know and grow
  • The learning never stops, we are always learning something new
  • Mark 4:17
    • Many abide for a time because of own personal affliction
    • For the Word’s sake
    • Some family in the truth with you are a friend for an occasion
      • Sir 6:8-9 – Some men friend for their own occasion (for the benefits you are providing)
      • Some are our own children (prepare for possibility of children going into the world)
      • When times get rough, they will not be there
  • Mark 4:18-19
    • The deceitfulness of riches
    • Business practices in Israel, which can pull people out of the truth
    • Luke 16:14-15 – A lot of business practices built on covetousness
      • Brothers will justify themselves (justify their covetousness)
      • What is esteemed is covetousness
      • 2 Chron 20:35-37 – King Jehosaphat business dealings
        • prophesized against Jehosophat, all hell breaks
  • Mark 4:20
    • Overtime, the poeple will endure the same things
    • All goes through affliction for the word, all go through the cares of the world, but those on good ground will endure
  • When decline starts, what do we do
    • Prayer and fasting
    • Reinforce what  we already know
    • Mark 4:17 – What is everyone’s root
      • Christ, the laws, bible
      • If have no root, will not go to the Lord, will not put on a class,
        • we must recognize what is happening in our spirit
      • Counsel up
    • Sir 18:6
      • None of us can add to his wonderful works
      • We are also unable to take away
      • When a man is doing work, he is beginning a great thing
        • Called the prophets from the beginning
      • When stop doing the work, doubt begin to resonate in our spirit
    • When teach also remind ourselves and reinforce our faith
    • When hanging with godly men, the discourse is Godly
    • Luke 9:26 – If afraid to correct a brother or sister, is the same as being ashamed of the word
      • If afraid to correct one another, still a Christian mindset
    • Sir 5:2 – When leave the work, we begin to doubt and then follow our own doubtful mind
      • Don’t be scared to tell the leaders what is really going on
    • Luke 18:9-14
      • Those who trusted in themselves were the pharises
      • Seek out council for the affirmities we are dealing with
      • Trusted in themselves that they were righteous
      • If trust in self is the spirit of Pharisees
      • Despise others, (not seeking council)
      • We must stay humbled
      • When trust yourself, you already made up your mind
    • Be glad that we are able to do the work is Christ’s vineyard
    • The Lord can easily replace us
      • A purge to trim the fat
    • Before coming through the doors, we exhausted all of our options, trusting in ourselves got us in trouble in the world
      • When we come into the body, we must change
    • 1 Cor 14:12
      • We will have zeal about certain things, but not all things pertaining to God
      • The zeal must be on the same level for all things
      • We must let nothing be grievous to us
      • Certain things must be set in order
      • We must give ouselves wholly to the word
    • Ezra 5:1-2
      • Every single office have been done by another
      • We must be happy in every work of the Lord
      • A lot of things done before we got here
    • The 70 2×2 were going before he went
    • 2 Cor. 9:1-5
      • Achaia ready a year ago (was going into giving)
      • Paul always had a battle with the church of Corinth
      • Trying to get them ready
      • Achaia was in the spirit, should have affected the church of Corinth
      • Blessing and generosity was because of wanting to push the truth
      • The zeal that the leaders had fall upon those that come in the future
    • 1 Cor.16:15 – They were addicted to the scriptures, gospel, and doing the work
      • When the zeal gets on the decline, must addict ourselves
      • Scared to talk about our flaws
      • Some mask demons by calling out other demons
    • They can’t watch for your soul if don’t know whats going on in your soul
    • Our provisions for the flesh will take us out
    • Rom 10:2-3
      • Zeal starts to fade, stop doing the work and begin to doubt
      • We doubt to the point where heresies come in
      • We begin to fool ourselves that we are greater than we really are
      • Ignorant of the truth Christ called us into
      • Establish own righteousness, God did not give the increase, Satan did
    • Acts 14:15
      • Zeal = passion, many of us lose the passion for the work we are called to do
      • Israel sometimes have a zeal for another God
    • Sir 33:27
      • Idleness teaches much evil (laziness, state of inaction, inactivity, slothfulness, sluggishness)
      • In the world (compulsive daters -no time alone) too much time alone forces you to examine yourself
      • When around the Godly, the discourse is Godly
        • More energy to hide our demons, but will eventually reveal itself
    • Ecc 9:10-17
      • Whatever we do, do with our full ability
      • the Zeal is the swift portion, but slow down as the race continues
      • The amount of time that goes into the swift, rich, and wise have time and opportunity
      • A man of wisdom through opportunity of leisure
      • Keep those brothers encouraged, will we still continue this in the future
      • No one knows how much time we will endure in this truth or on this earth
      • The poor is us, we may not have the money, but we have the wisdom
        • But the wise is despised (council against us teaching or nationality, and laws)
      • When we pray, pray for the evil to get out
      • The words of the wise heard, in our secret chamber we are communicating with the Most High
        • Equipping ourselves with the level of wisdom (greatest weapon anyone of us have)
      • Wisdom better than weapons of war
    • To come back from loss of zeal
      • Discipline, examining yourself
      • Studying
      • Faith has to kick in
    • 1 Cor.9:24-25
      • Paul never says how long the race is
      • Some worked hardly to obtain worldly achievements than to obtain Godly achievements
    • 2 Tim 4:7
      • Paul kept the faith
      • 2 Cor.11 (all that Paul went through, despite all, kept the faith)
      • The troubles of the world will wear down our fleshly body, we must keep the faith
  • Mark 4:17
    • No root in themselves and endure for a time
    • 2 Cor. 11:22-27
      • Paul lost some of himself to gain the spirit of Christ
      • Optimum goal is to endure to the end (death or til Christ’s return) any thing else is just for a time
      • Someone has to be a false brethren, know something to hurt the person, paint a false narrative others may believe
  • Leaders set up over us are going through trials just as we are
  • 2 Tim 4:7
    • All that Paul had to endure and still handle the affairs of the church
    • When some of us go through affliction, we put the bible down
    • His daily thought was the care of the churches
    • Acts 27:10-14, 21-22 – Shipwreck of Paul
      • Euroclydon = Hurricane
      • Paul still did not lost the faith
      • Our forefathers went through much
