• Genesis 2:25 [And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.]

    • The first 6 chapters in Genesis are difficult to understand for the unlearned.

    • Psalms 78:1-2

      • 1 [(Maschil of Asaph.) Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.]

      • 2 [I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:]

        • A lot of the first 6 chapters of Genesis are allegory.

        • Allegory (Search) – a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one: (parable, analogy, metaphor, symbol)

    • Matthew 13:10-13

      • 10 [And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?]

      • 11 [He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.]

        • The mysteries of the kingdom of heaven is in the bible.

      • 12 [For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.]

      • 13 [Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.}

        • The bible is full of parables.

    • 2 Esdras 14:4-6

      • 4 [And I sent him and led my people out of Egypt, and brought him up to the mount of where I held him by me a long season,]

        • This is speaking of Moses. The long season was forty days and forty nights.

      • 5 [And told him many wondrous things, and shewed him the secrets of the times, and the end; and commanded him, saying,]

      • 6 [These words shalt thou declare, and these shalt thou hide.]

        • The scriptures that were declared are plain such as the laws and commandments.

        • The sciptures that are hidden done so with parables.

  • Genesis 2:25 [And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.]

    • Genesis 3:10-11 

      • 10 [And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.]

        • In one instance they were naked and not ashamed, in the next time they were naked and hid themselves from God. This means that there is a different nakedness.

      • 11 [And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?]

    • The first meaning of naked is to be free from sin.

      • Genesis 2:7 [And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.]

        • Wisdom of Solomon 7:24-25 

          • 24 [For wisdom is more moving than any motion: she passeth and goeth through all things by reason of her pureness.]

          • 25 [For she is the breath of the power of God, and a pure influence flowing from the glory of the Almighty: therefore can no defiled thing fall into her.]

            • Wisdom is the breath of God. If you have wisdom you are influenced by pureness.

            • Pure (Search) – free of any contamination, wholesome and untainted by immorality, especially that of a sexual nature:

        • 2 Esdras 3:5-7 

          • 5 [And gavest a body unto Adam without soul, which was the workmanship of thine hands, and didst breathe into him the breath of life, and he was made living before thee.]

            • The breath of life is God’s commandments.

          • 6 [And thou leadest him into paradise, which thy right hand had planted, before ever the earth came forward.]

          • 7 [And unto him thou gavest commandment to love thy way: which he transgressed, and immediately thou appointedst death in him and in his generations, of whom came nations, tribes, people, and kindreds, out of number.]

            • The command of Adam was to love the way of God. Adam was without sin.

              • 1 John 3:9 [Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.]

            • Adam transgressed when he listened to his wife when presented to him idolatry. After that man was appointed to die.

              • Wisdom of Solomon 2:23-24 

                • 23 [For God created man to be immortal, and made him to be an image of his own eternity.]

                  • Adam was a god and made to be immortal.

                • 24 [Nevertheless through envy of the devil came death into the world: and they that do hold of his side do find it.]

                  • After the transgression of God’s commandment, death came into the world.

              • 1 Timothy 2:13 

                • 13 [For Adam was first formed, then Eve.]

                • 14 [And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.]

                  • Adam was perfect and without sin.

                  • The Lord put it it in Adam’s spirit to love the ways of God. His wife came with the negative influence that was against God.

  • Genesis 2:17 [How did they know they were naked?]

    • 17 [But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.]

      • Adam was already commanded to not eat of the tree of good and evil.

      • Adam was warned that if he breaks the commandment that death would be the consequence. This means that his immortality would be taken away from him. This was told to him before Eve was even created.

      • Adam taught his wife the ways (laws) of God.

        • Genesis 3:1-3

          • 1 [Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?]

          • 2 [And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:]

          • 3 [But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.]

            • Eve knew the consequences because Adam taught her. She was not there when the commandment was given to Adam. They were both naked (pure) because Adam taught Eve the commandments.

  • Genesis 3:7

    • 7 [And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

      • Their eyes became opened because they ate of the tree and now knew good and evil.

      • Why did they sew fig leaves together as aprons?

        • Job 31:33 [If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom:]

          • Adam and Eve was trying to cover their sin.

  • Matthew 6:28-29 [28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.]

    • God created the sun, moon, stars, and even clothed the lillies of the field. Why would he not have clothing for Adam and Eve.

    • In Genesis chapter two, Adam and Eve was without sin. In Genesis three, they were in sin which is why they tried to cover their transgressions.

  • Exodus 32:25 [And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)]

    • 1 Corinthians 10:7 [Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.]

    • Because of idolatry, Israel was committing sins such as fornication.

  • 2 Chronicles 28:19 [For the LORD brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he made Judah naked, and transgressed sore against the LORD.]

    • This is similar to what happened to Adam.

  • Revelation 16:15 [Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.]

    • You will be put to death when Christ comes and you are in the midst of sin.
