• Society tells us that we cannot be perfect, but the bible says otherwise.

    • There were men, besides Christ, that were deemed perfect in the scriptures.

    • Christianity does not teach what it means to be perfect according to the bible. To say that no one can be perfect is just an excuse to allow a person to stay in sin.

  • Genesis 6:9 [These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.]

  • Genesis 17:1 [And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

    • God appeared to Abraham to be perfect.

    • Ecclesiasticus 44:19-20 

      • 19 [Abraham was a great father of many people: in glory was there none like unto him;]

        • Glory (Bing Search Definition) high renown or honor won by notable achievements:

      • 20 [Who kept the law of the most High, and was in covenant with him: he established the covenant in his flesh; and when he was proved, he was found faithful.]

        • Abraham was perfect because he kept the laws of God. The faith of Abraham caused him to keep the commandments. God established his covenant with Abraham which passed to Isaac, Jacob, and then the twelve tribes of Israel.

        • The covenant in his flesh was circumsicion.

    • Abraham was an old man and still kept the commandments. There is not an excuse to be stuck in your ways. Abraham was ninety-nine years old at this time, so you can never be too old to follow the laws of God.

  • The only thing we have to do to obtain perfection is keep the commandments.

  • Deuteronomy 6:25 [And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.]

    • To be considered just, righteous, and perfect, we must be following the laws of God.

  • Job 1:1 [There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.]

  • We must no put perfection on a pedestal.

  • Matthew 5:48 [Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.]

    • Christ even told us to be perfect (to keep the commandments of God).

    • You obtain perfection by keeping the commandments of God.

      • 1 Kings 8:61 [Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.]

        • Our mind has to be filled with the laws of God.

        • Mark 7:21 [For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,]

          • The heart is the mind.

  • Psalms 19:7 [The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.]

    • The law changes us from being whore mongers, adulterers, drug addicts, murders, and thieves into righteous men and women of God. The law also builds back family by fixing the divine order that has been broken by our oppressors during captivity.

    • The laws of God make you wise.

      • Psalms 111:10 [The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.]

        • It is a wise thing to fear God. He could at any moment take us from this world.

  • 1 Chronicles 28:9 [And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.]

    • Solomon was one of the wisest men to have ever walked the earth.

    • We serve God with a perfect heart and willing mind by keeping the commandments.

    • God knows our thoughts and can see our true nature. He knows if we are really trying to get right with Him or are faking.

The Reason that in Christianity they say we cannot be perfect.

  • We could not obtain perfection under the law of sacrifice.

    • Hebrews 10:1 [For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.]

      • The sacrifices could not make us perfect, but we can now under the faith of Christ.

      • The good things to come was speaking of Christ.

  • Psalms 37:37 [Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.]

    • The end of the man who is obeying the laws of God is the kingdom of heaven.
